Meet Jeff

Fell Into Food" isn't just a play on my last name—it’s exactly what happened. In my mid-20s, I didn’t have a grand master plan. I just knew I loved to cook and I loved the feeling of making people happy with a meal. So, I said "screw it," went to culinary school, and let the industry pull me in. That decision took me from the line to running high-volume operations in casinos and universities, but I never forgot that initial spark of just wanting to feed people without the noise.

For a long time, I played the corporate game. But when my position was eliminated, I hit a wall. My first reaction was, "Oh sh*t." My second reaction (now looking back) was realizing it was the best thing that could have happened. I was tired of the red tape and tired of being told where to be and how to act by people who didn't get it. I realized I didn't just want a job; I wanted ownership. I wanted to build something where the only person telling me what to do was me.

That drive for autonomy is what built Fell Into Food. Whether I’m consulting for brands or serving as the U.S. Brand Ambassador for Meatico, I operate on the belief that you should hire smart people and let them do their jobs. The podcast is my way of paying that forward. I’m here to give the "inside scoop" on the industry—highlighting the people and positions that usually go unnoticed. I want the next generation to know that there isn’t just one route in this business; you can carve your own path, just like I did.
